Matt Piper – 1:00 pm
Working with the New Features, Session 1

This tutorial will explore beat production and sound design with Kong, Neptune techniques for both natural and extreme pitch correction plus techniques for creating vocal harmonies, as well as Live Sampling in Kong, NN-XT, and NN-19.

Kurt Kurasaki (Peff) – 2:00 pm
Working with the New Features, Session 2

In this tutorial Kurt Kurasaki will share his techniques for Dr. Octo Rex programming, tips and tricks for programming in the new Blocks sequencer view, and will demonstrate creative CV gate techniques with the Neptune Pitch Adjuster and Vocal Synth.

Calmer – 3:00 pm
Calmer will be presenting an overview of his production techniques, focusing on working with live drums and programmed drums together, as well as sampling and Rex file manipulation. Calmer will also demonstrate how powerful the Combinator can be for building dynamic pads and lead synth patches, and will discuss why Reason is such as massive part of his production process.

Michael "Double O" Aguilar – 4:00 pm
Double O will be showing how Reason and Record were used to create some of the tracks on the upcoming Kidz in the Hall album. This will include programmed beats and parts, as well as live instrumentation that was recorded using Record.

About the Presenters

Calmer
Calmer 200px Collin M. Palmer (aka Calmer) is a percussionist / composer from Brooklyn, NY. Within a year of releasing his debut EP Past is Present, Calmer has been called on by staple artists such as Sound Tribe Sector 9, Tycho and Machinedrum to do remixes for them. Calmer has shared the stage with John Tejada , Mike Slot, Body Language, Machinedrum, Falty DL, Helios, Starkey, Theophilous London and Keith Fullerton Whitman, to name a few. Calmer's music fuses psychedelic elements with jazz-influenced compositions, blurring the lines between conventional and unconventionally made music. He has been named one of the top artists to watch in 2010 by PopMatters.


Michael "Double O" Aguilar
Producer Double O is one half of the hip hop group Kidz in the Hall, with rapper Naledge (Jabari Evans). Their first album, School Was My Hustle, debuted to critical acclaim in 2006. In early 2007, Kidz in the Hall created a song entitled "Work To Do" in support of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, and were among the first artists to support Obama in their music. Their song "Blackout" was featured on the soundtrack of Madden '09. The group's most recent album, Land of Make Believe, was released in March 2010 and features guests MC Lyte, Just Blaze, Chip tha Ripper, Donnis, Amanda Diva and co-production by Just Blaze and Picnic Tyme.


Matt Piper
Mattpiper 200px Matt Piper, author of Reason 4 Ignite, is Line 6’s Propellerhead Product Specialist. Piper is an accomplished musician who makes innovative use of Propellerhead software for music production as well as for live performances with improvisational groups and DJ’s in the thriving underground electronic music scene in Los Angeles.


Kurt Kurasaki (Peff)
Kurasaki 150px Kurt Kurasaki, author of Power Tools for Reason 3.0, is a noted Reason user with credits in Keyboard and Computer Music magazines. He also works with Propellerhead Software as a sound designer and tutorial developer. Known as Peff throughout the online ReBirth and Reason communities, Kurt is one of the originators of ReBirth Mods.
