The Producers Conference, Rotterdam, Netherlands
September 13, only 5 days after the global release of Record, the Benelux Producer Conference was held for the third time. This year we were at the SAE Institute Rotterdam. Around 100 visitors witnessed one of the very first Benelux introduction workshops on Record by Simon Grey, who showed all the new features of Record, and Record in combination with Reason. Marco Raaphorst (Melodiefabriek), a long time Reason specialist and sound designer had a great technical workshop about sound design and the Reason Combinator and Thor synthesizer. Between the workshops the Coen Molenaar Band (Coen Molenaar - Keyboards, Marco Dirne - Bass, Remco van der Sluis - Drums and Marcel Duprix - vocals) demonstrated the power of real-time live recording of tracks and songs in Record to conference visitors in the main SAE Control and Live Room 4.
The Conference ended with a master-class on mastering by Renier Vreugde (Media Satellite), using IK Multimedia T-RackS 3, and talking about specific mastering and mixing techniques - compression, limiting, equalizing etc. The conference ended around 6.00 PM and we all can look back on a successful Conference and we already look forward to the next Producers Conference in 2010!
